Backstone Lauder Runs
SUCCESSFUL BALLOT. Fer United Press Association. DUNEDIN. April 11. Over 500 people attended the ballot at Naseby in connection with the subdivision of the Blackstone Lauder Home Hills runs, which took place in the Towu Hall at Naseby. Keen excitement prevailed and the accommodation of tho hall was taxed to its utmost. The following is the result of the ballot ;—Run 224, Archibald Williamson ( Algxvumra South) :’.22t B, Lucy Amt Bn: - s (Otakou, Otago Peninsula) ; 224 L>, George Fraser (Cheviot) ; 224 L, Albert Edward Thurlow (Waipiata); 224 V, Mary McLennan (Matakanui) ; 224, Edith Huddleston (Rough Ridge) : 224 X. John T. Wilson (Fatcaroa) : 224 "V. Fred G. Me Knight (Rough Ridge) ; 221 Z. Annie McKnight (Rough Ridge) ; 22b G. J o hu Hamilton, jun. (Bocks) ; 22*4 A and 227. grouped together, Harvey McCosh Smith (Naseby) ; 226 A, William McConuochie (St. Bathans) ; 226 B. James Meo (Bocks); 226 C. Margaret Wilson (Lauder) ; 227 A, Ann Dillon (Blackstone Hill)

The most prominent feature of the ballot is the success of the local applicants, Only two outsiders secured rims, although the majaritj of the applications came from outfddo the immediate districts. -The ballot wont off without a hitch, only one applicant, in consequence of not boin© present and his aglent not corili upr forward, being challenged. This was in the case of run 22-1 D. -2. B. 15,500 acres. Thomas A. Lewis* (Blackstone Hill). No. 227 C,15030 acres, was not applied for.
