Per United Press Association, FITRISTCHURCH, Feb. 18. An adjourned inquest was held today concerning the death of Cecil P(libson who died at the hospital on Thursday, shortly after his admission. The inquest had been adjourned in order that, certain organs might he examined, poison being suspected. To-day medical evidence was given to the effect that death was due to internal trouble and a verdict was returned accordingly. BLENHEIM, Feb. 18. A man named Sheehan expired suddenly this afternoon. He had been running to catch a train, and collapsed. He was carried into a blacksmith's shop, where ho died immediately. Deceased came from Wellington, and was suffering from a throat complaint. He was about 24 years of age. WAIMATE, Feb. 18.

A lad named Valk, about 9 y’cais old, fell -down a well this afternoon and was killed. Ho was sent for (he cows and was missed. On searching. ihe body was found in a well with a windlass from the top of tho well, which had fallen in, on top of him. HOKITIKA, Fch. 18. A voung man named Jensen, a recent arrival, was seriously injured whilst engaged in bush work for tho Woodstock Sawmilling Company. A wedge he was driving flew back, embedding itself in the young man’s chest and inflicting a very serious wound. He was xvmavod to the hospital. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 18. A little girl named Lizzie Marks jumped off a Papanui train this afternoon while it was in motion, and struck one of the poles. Her bead was seriously 7 injured, and she died shortly afterwards.
