SATURDAY, KHh FEB. J,- A. Mitchell and Co. report as follows ; The attendance at our weekly sale this day was by no means large, and as the majority of farmers arc supplied with hors-es for the harvest (which is now ' in full swing) the sale to a great extent lacked animation, especially for aged horses. Several young animals were, however, picked up, by speculators at satisfactory prices. We sold a 4yr-old filly (small), £34 10s, one 3yr-old colt at £26 10s, two 2yr-old do, £2l IDs each..'one do £l9 ss, other jfged draught! £23 downwards. Hack! and light harness horses—Useful sorts brought £ls ICs, £l3 15s and £l2. aged and woody (winch class was well represented), £9 to £3. At Winton on Friday next we hold our monthly horse sale, when wo will offer several good draughts and a number of quiet harness horses, suitable for rabbiters, particulars pf which are advertised.

We also report having held at Ot'autau on Friday. 15th (inconjunction with the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.) a clearing sale of Mr Alex. Agncw’s livery plant, including horses, traps, harness, etc., etc. The horses being, a well-known lot and having the reputation of being reliable, attracted a large attendance of buyers from nil parts of the district, the result being that good prices were obtained for the better horses. The following are some of the horses sold rind prices obtained : Bay mare Kate £27, bay gelding Brook £27, Teddy £22, Gusty £2O, one at £ls 10s, two at £ls each, one at £l4 10s. one at £'l4, others down to £9. A nice 4yr-old (show Pony was passed in at £l6. Traps, harness, etc. —One waggonette £26, long-shafted gig £2O 10s, one gig £l9 10s. one do £ll', one single brake £9 ss, double-seated buggy £l9. Harness, rugs, etc., brought satisfactory prices.
