Taylor-Carrington Company.
The following extract, relative to the Taylor-Carriugtoii Company’s new production, which is to,be presented hereon Tuesday next, is from the Thames Star; —There was another largo and apprecia- | tivo audience last night, when the new , Irish play " Evicted " was produced. Good Irish plays are very scarce ; in fact, outside the Boucicault series there are not half a do/.on worth producing ; so the Taylor-Carrington management nr<4 to I e congratulated upon having added to their repertoire such a remarkably elfectivo drama as ’’ Evicted.” The plot Is powerful, the language natural, the
incidents .many and, varied, the situations striking and the sensations new and effective. The fun, 100, that abounds in this drama is of the clean, wholesome order, ami keeps the audience thoroughly fcmused. Air Taylor, as Brian O’Earrcll, gives us the real Trukmau, not the buries me personage so often put Ircforo audiences to insult and disgust. Mr Taylir’s Irishman is mod.dled upon the *reat> ion Boucicnult, and is almost worthy bf that groat actor. Miss Carrington, in the comedy- character of B'ieiia McGuire kept her audience in roars of laughter Without being vulgar, and her scenes with the English tiger, amusingly plnytrt byMr Edwin Clench, were screamingly comic. The scenery is really beautiful, tiie scenes of the hay field. farmhouse, .ruined mill ami tropical island being specially well painted. The box plan is open nt Bovg and Co.’s.
