A farmer named Griffiths, was burning off stumps near the old home of the Keliy gang, when a terrific explosion occurred. A stump had served the Kellys as a magazine and a keg of* powder had -ppamiUy been -owerlookcd. The explosion was so strong that the clol - of the State school, a mile away was thrown from the wall.
