Per United Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 25. The question of affording belter facilities for education in the back blocks has been before tho Education Board, and report on the subject was submitted by the Chief Inspector today. Flo states that each case would have lo be. considered on its merits. Some could bo mot by employing; itinerant teachers, who would teach in each family for a week at a time ; in all other cases the usual grant of £(i for, each unit of average attendance should be olfcreel on condition that Ihe head of the family makes provision for the instruction of the children in accordance with the Acts, and that an inspector certifies that the instruction given is reasonably elbcient. Mr Greonslade said that in the remote back-blocks there were more, apologies for roads, and it was certainly regrettable to see how tho children were penalised as regards education because their parents were obliged to go away hack and carry on the laudable work of pioneering. He agreed with the inspectors' suggestions. The report was adopted and referred to the Department.
