“ RAGGING ” IN THE SCOTS GUARDS. ' Per United Press Association. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON, April 22. A court-martial in connection with the recent ragging incident in the Scots. Guards resulted, in Colonel Cuthbert being relieved of his command, Captain Tracy of his adjutancy, and four of the offending lieutenants lose a year’s seniority. Tho lieutenant who was the victim of the ragging has left the regiment.
The evidence disclosed that the ragging was not connected with the victim’s lack o{ funds, but in consequence of the doctor’s report that the lieutenant was suffering from an unpleasant disease due to his personal habits. LONDON, April 23. Received 24th, at 12.24 a.m. The consensus of newspaper opinion is (hat the courtmartial’s judgment will effectually suppress ragging.
