.SUGGESTED .CAUSE.
PROBABLE LITIGATION. Per United Press Association. THAMES, March 23. From enquiries made it is ascertained that a!) the victims of tha ptomaine poisoning c: on the J'aeron racecourse have ecovered. Tbe Thames sufferers, tho; hj some were badly attacked, are all well. The residents of Paeroa, Waihi and Hamilton are reported also recovered. H is stated that the tongues were boiled in a copper and allowed to stand all night. It is believed lhat the action of the salt on the copper contaminated the tongues, though a strange circumstance is 1 hat persons who refrained from eating the tongues and only partook of tea were similarly attacked.
