Waikiwi Football Club
The annual meeting of the ’.Vaikiwi Club was hold in. McGill's Hall, wfalklwi, on Friday night, Mr W. Fraser presiding over is, large attendance. Tho report and balance-sheet, which were adopted, showed that the club was in a strong position, there being a good credit balance. Tho following office-bearers were elected'—President, Mr George Anderson ; vice-presidents, Messrs D. M. Gralg, W. D. Hunt, J. VI. Gardiner, duo. Robertson, T. E. Thompson, nud d us. .Smith ; captain, J ue. Forde ; deputy-captain, Jns. Fordo : match committee, A. McNeece,‘W. Harris, Jno. Fordo ; general committee, E. CockeriH, W. R. Dyle, Geo. Fraser, J, Shaud, C. Gardiner, E. Edginton. and A: Fraser ; hon. sec. and Iroas., K. D. Royds ; delegates S.R.F.U., Messrs T. Meredith and S. Fraser. Subscriptions wore fixed at bs for seniors and Us Od for juniors. The Chairman staled that a very generous oiler had boor, made by Mr Thos. Meredith, which the club heartily appreciated. In .order to encourage the players to uapiirc rep. honours, lie undertook to present to every member who was successful iu securing a place in the rep. team with a P-p. cap, and in ihe event of none being included, bo will present a gold medal to the most improved player during the year, mid a silver medal for the junior player who showed the best form and improvement. The Chairman, in thanking Mr Meredith lor his oiler, said he felt sure that, with the largo number of players übpdred this year for ehe Auckland trip, more than one ol the club's reps, -would hnvo tiro honour of wearing the cups. Eighteen new members wore elected, and the opening day was fixed for Uh April.
