All Inexhaustible Industry
THE RISE OF THE T. AND P, DAIRY FACTORY CO, Per United Press Association. OAM'AIUT, Jan. 25. The Taieri and Peninsula Dairy Factory Co. has made a large addition to its butter factory here and it was opened to-day, there being a large and representative gathering. The Mayor said the company had been in existence for 21" years. The turn-over during the first year was £5495 and in 1904 it was £260,5(53. The Chairman of Directors gave a resume of the history' of the company and the general manager dealt with figures as they affected the wealth, of the colony and of the Otago district. Air Turner, representative of a large Home firm, who had visited nearly every dairying country in the world, said the factory was (he most complete he had seen. In other countries each station was a creamery and factory combined ; in New Zealand the cream was sent from the skimming stations to a centre to bo made into butter. This? was a great improvement in his opinion. The amount paid last month at Oamaru for bubtor fat was £BSOO.
