Indies, Central America, West Coast ofSoutn America United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, via San Francisco (due in London on 27th Jan.), also Japan, Samoa and Hawaiian Islands, at 8 p.m. Money orders at 1 p.m., and parcels for United States at 5 p-m. Registered letters <T 5 p m, Supplementary mails for the above places will be made up on Tuesday. 26th December (Boxing Dav), at 10 a.m., registered letters being accepted up to this hour also. Note— Money orders for despatch by S«n Francisco mail cannot be issued after 1 p.m. on Saturday, 23rd in st.

The English n ail ef this despatch will be due in liOndou on 4th February. Correspondence must be specially addressed via Suez, CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS. The mails visually despatched on Christmas Day for Myross Bush, Roslyn Bush, Mabel Bush and Gro.'e Bush will close at 2.30 p.m on Saturday, 23rd inst. . M>nday, the 25th December and Ist January (Christmas Day and New Year's Day) will be observed as close holidays. On Tuesday, the 26th inst (Boxing Da}), the Post Office will be open in all branches, except Money Order and Savings Bank, from 1) a.m to 10 a.m. Mails usually despatched on .Monday, 25th Dec. and Ist January, will be closed at 8 p.m on .-atiuday, 23id and 30th inst, and supplementary mails at 0 a.m on the mornings of the 25th inst- and Ist pro*. On the 26th inst. (Boxing Day) the usual despatch cf mails up to 8 a.m wiil be made. Mails despatched after that hour wilt close at loam. There will he one complete delivery by carriers, commencing at 8 a.m.

On Monday (Christmas Day) the Telegraph Office will be open from 9.30 to 10 a.m, and 5 to 5.30 p.m On Tuesday (Boxing Day) and Monday (New Year’s Day) the Telegraph Office will be open from 9 a.ir. t) 4 p.m. and 7p.m to midnight. On Tuesdiy (Boxing Day) all Telegraph and Telephone Offices throughout the colony will be open from 9 to 10 a in.

The Telephone Exchange will be open as usual. On Saturday, 23rd and 30th inst. a delivery of town and suburban correspondence will be male over the counter between the hours of 7 and 8 p.m. All receivers a r d posting boxes will be cleared at 7 p.m. on Saturday,23rd and 30th inst., and a special clearance of the town posting boxes will be made at 5 a.m on 25th inst and Ist prox. CHRISTMAS CARDS.

Note -The public arc reminded that Christmas cards should be posted in covers entirely open at one or both ends, or in open envelopes with flaps turned frs’de, If the covers are not sufficiently open, the artnles, if addressed to places within New Zealand, are taxed the deficiency at letter rates of postage and forwarded to destination.
