'The Welsh Union selected Mr James, of Newport, as referee for the Glamorgan match. The New Zealanders objected, and threatened to cancel all Welsh fixtures. A long discussion by telephone ended in the New Zealanders accepting James. Thirty thousand spectators witnessed the game. The Glamorgan team included only two .international players, several of those who 'took part in Saturday's match being unable to play. The "AU Blacks" bpened by invading Glamorgan's country, and during the first half kept their opponents hard pressed by showing splendid combination. They made frequent attacks, in which Smith and Wallace took a prominent part. Eventually Abbott scored at the corner, but Wallace failed to convert„the spell ending 3 to nil. In the second half the Glamorgan forwards pressed hard, but their efforts were rendered unavailing owing to the backs missing several chances. Just before time was called the New Zealanders again asserted themselves, some clever play resulting in McDonald and Wallace each securing a try. In neither case, however, did tho attempt to add the extra points succeed, and the whistle sounded— New Zealand, 9 ; Glamorgan, 0. Per United Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 22. The Premier has received the following message :—" N.Z. defeated Glamorgan by 9 to nil. Smith, McDonald and Wallace each scored a try. The team are showing' unmistakeable signs of staleness.
