LONDON, Sept. 4, Received 4th, 10.35 p.m. Speaking at Abercairney regarding the refashioning of the Anglo-Japan-ese alliance, Mr Asquith said that while reserving liberty of judgment on details all Liberals would agree in declaring that the alliance was a material assurance of our common interests, which were also those of civilisation and progress and involve no antagonism with the rights and legitimate susceptibilities of other Powers. It was heartily approved by the people of Britain and was alrcadj' regarded by. them as an integral part of our policy in the Far East.
