General Booth

Per United Press Association

AUCKLAND, May 5General Booth arrived this morning at Onehunga. There was no formal welcome but a large number of local officers assembled on the wharf and received their General. The General looked rather frail and worn by his journey. He took off his hat to the assembled soldiers and’ moved through them, cheerfully ackno-.vlelg-ing their salutes and then drove to Parnell where he is staying at the Army Officers’ Home. "I saw seven mayors and addressed eight meetings .yesterday as we came up from Wellington and I Iwas delighted with the warmth of Welcome they gave me,” the General said to an interviewer. He addressed a large meeting tonight ; to-morrow he devotes to his soldiers ; on Sunday he addresses a meeting in the Opera House, and on Monday night 1 sails for Sydney.
