The annual Swift cycle road race was run this afternoon from Rii'Ca.rton, via West Melton and back (25 miles). The race was won ny J. Demsey (10 min). Time—7o mii.s. 1 sec ; H. E. Alehrtens (2 min.) putting up the fastest time—63 mm. 9 DUNEDIN, May 4. Mr John' Lobb, of Naseby, has announced his candidature for Mount Ida as an Independent Liberal. with Government leanings.
