Wool Markets

LONDON, May 2
The wool sales opened very strong, prices ranging from par to 10 per cent, advance on the closing sales of lust scries. May 3. Received 3rd, 11.30 p.m. A joint catalogue of-8359 bales of representative selection was submitted today to a crowded attendance. Compared with the March sales, merinos advanced fully 5 per cent., fine to medium crossbreds 7J to 10 per cent., coarse crossbreds unchanged, with an occasional advance.
The N.’Z.L. ,and M.A. Co. have received the following cablegram from their London office “ Wool : The market opened strong for all sorts. As compared with last sales’ closing rates, prices tor crossbred coarse and merino are about 5 per cent, higher, and for crossbred lamb, fine crossbred and medium crossbred about ID per cent, higher. There is a good American demand for crossbred.”
