At Naseby to-day, before the C lei k of the District Court, an appli ir.tion was made, by creditors' po'iilA'L to have John Ewing, goldminer, t(Vindicated bankrupt. The petitioner was Thomas Morgan’, manager of the Vinegar Hill Co., whose mine was previously owned by Ewing and the ground was that judgment; had been returned nulla bona. For t;hn del-tor it was contended that the proieedings were taken because, if Ewing was made bankrupt, the. petitionermight be able to secure some things cheap ; because the Vinegar Hill Co. wanted to get the use of Ewing’s tail race, which he had stopped tl’.enl from using, or because L-U’.ki'uptcy would stifle Ewing’s appeal asninst the Scandinavian Co., directors of which iwere also directors of the Vinegar Hill Co. Decision la the matter was reserved.
