The Invercargill arrived from Southport, at 7.30 a.m. on Saturday, with a large quantity of fish, and proceeded to Waikawa. .
The N.Z.S. Co.’S TuraMna arrived from. Timaru ,on Saturday, and "as berthed at 10 a.m. She has shipped a large.quantity of cargo, and is expected to leave this morning for Port Chalmers. The S.S. and A. Co.’s Kumara arrived Oil the port on Sunday evening from Port Chalmers, and was berthed at ' a.m. yesterday, but afl the available labour being employed on the Turak.ma and Ilawea, combined with the , wet weather and the holiday, was obliged to lie idle yesterday. She loads wool, fl a x and inflow, and leaves for Timaru to-morrow The Theresa Ward made an excursion to {Stewart Island yesterday, nut owing to the inclement weather there weieveiy few passengers. Tho Tyser liner Marerc passed an iceberg about three days' steam from Port Phillip. ’ r J’he s.s. Ayreshire took the place oi the U.S. Dorset on the West of England service, and saileel'for N.Z. on 11th April. The next steamer will be the s.s. Wai mate, sailing about rlth May. The daily .services between Lyttelton and Wellington and Manukau and New Plymouth, will be maintained during May.j . ' ' ; Tho s.s. Rotomahana will be withdrawn next week for overhaul, and will resume running on Oth May. The Patcena leaves Wellington for Lyttelton on Saturday, ami takes the Rotoraahana’s place in the Lyttelton-Wellington service. The Wanaka leaves Auckland for the lllulT to-morrow. Importers will do well to note* the -elate.
During rough weather, on Thursday night the s.s. Wlnikatane, loading off Waitara. had to put to' sea. leaving a punt loaded with frozen meat at tho anchorage. The punt broke adrift, and drifted on to the beach three miles north. Tf-ife meat has been carted to tl>» freezing works, more or less damaged. The s.s. Moeraki left Hobart at noon on Saturday, and is expected to arrive iit the BlufT about 7 this morning. U.S.S. CO.’S movements. Tuesday, 25th-Moeraki arrives from Melbourne and Hobart about 7 a.m., and leaves for Sydney, via Dunedin, etc., on arrival of 3.35 p.m. train from Invercargill. (By Telegraph.) AUCKLAND,' April 24.
