New onions are of good quality, and' there is a fair demand. Only the early Globe are available, and these aro sold nt 14s per cwt. There is prac- ; tically nothing doing in produce. Fruit. A fairly heavy entry of pigs Inst week saw late pricea well maintained.- Suckers Gs to 10s, weaners ISs to lGs, slips 19s to 28s t Oats. — There hns been an improvement in the oat market during the week. In addition to the continued demands froih Auckland and the NortJi. Island generally, enquiries have been received from Western Australia for considerable quantities. The business pending with tine ICast has not yet come to anything, but a further enquiry for i)000 has 'been mode in the Invercargill maVket.' Tt is doubtful. ho«l?ver. whether local merchants would undertake the orcfcjr in Yttfw of the small stocks Held and the few samples ottering from the country. Th& stocks held are- not large, and the improvement in prices is- not likely to last till the* end, of the season. Buyers are offering foi euinple^ coming into the market ls 3d to ' Is 3Jd, sucks extra, on trucks up-coun-try stations.- There is a good demand fOT . B grade, but this quality seems to bo particularly scarce. Chaff.— A good demand, but very scarce supply. Buyers offer from £2 17s Od to £3 per ton on trucks up-country -stations*
