He' recommends insurances which expire nt stated periods. The Bishop of Wellington holds it to be the. duty of every young man to insure his life, and the sooner the better.

The Chief Health Officer says : "Insure, insure early, are > two sentences which should be brought before every man earning his livelihood.''

A Southlander, in the person of tho raeiulbpr for Wallace, remarks that life assurance is a . provision that, in the event of death,- "gives i- a concrete lovegift to those whonr" the assured holds, to be the dearest and best in life— hia wife ami children, in his opinion every woman should make it a condition precedent to matrimony that her intended husband rhould hand over us a marriage gift a life assurance policy. The Chief Justice . holds the opinion that everyone ought to insure, lt is a good mode of saving, and one of the best ways of' providing for 'those -for whom he ought to provide.

His Honour,- Mr JJustlce Williams. states that if a man has others dependent upon hip* and he cannot, in the event of death, 1 otherwise provide for them, he is either inimical or densely stupid if he neglects to insure. The Ilev. F. W. Isitt strongly recommends all young men to start early. Many instances have come under his. notice where the life assurance has saved households from the pinch of poverty. Mr .J.. W. PoVnton, owfe timo Magistrate of InwrcargiU, remarks, "' Life Assurance, if not Uie sum of all virtues, ia indicative of a good number of them— fore? thought.self-restraint, industry, persistence, unselfishness, thrift, and < many other good qualities are evidenced by it." A soldier, in the person of the Commandant, holds that insurance is a ready and secur o provision against poverty in old age. He (thinks - that' the present prosi>erous time and high rate of wages is particularly favourable " for making such provision. The ' Jewish IKabbi, Wellingtpn, says that lifo insurance is unquestionably tha soundest investment a man can make.
