An Open Letter
(To the chairman and members of the Hospital Trust, per favour ot the Southland Ttimes). Gentlemen,— ln reply to mine of 30th October, in which I complained of my treatment: at the hospital, I now .have your reply in which you say that " after having heard the doctor's explanation " you " have "decided to take no action in the matter." This may be the short and easy method to you, ttut it is not satisfactory to .mo. You considered my letter and heard the doctor's defence •' ii\ committee " and so prevented me or anyone else challenging the statements made in reply by tho doctor. This 'course of dealing with a complaint which concerns the head of a public institution is manifestly unfair. I now therefore beg respectfully to request, that as my complaint was made in writing, the doctor's reply may also be made to me in writing. I tako this opportunity ol addressing your committee through tho press so that if you wish you may reply through the some medium, instead of " considering the matter in committee."— l oin, &c, W. FEARN. Invercargill, 25th Nov.
