Gore Ram Fair
Wright, Stephenson and Co. report :— We held a very successful sale on Friday. There was a latfge attendance of farmers from tho surrrounding districts in quest of rams for their flocks, and in nearly every instance were well supplied. Breed, quality and .condition, especially of the rams offered on account of J. and T, Carswell (Pine liush), D. Murray (Warepa), and A. Murdoch (Riversdale) , were all that could be desired, and by many were considered to be the best ever offered at a Gore Fair. The bidding for Border Leicester and Ronuneys was very keen and spirited all through the 9ale, and some very fair prices were obtained. Altogether we yarded 90, and the following aro some of the sales effected : — Border Leicestcrs : Account J. and T. Carswell (Pine Bush), 10 one-shear at 3»Jgns each. Account W. McAra (Gore) :1 do at 4?gns, 2do at 4sgns, 4 do at 4gns, 2 do at 3Jgns, 1 do at 3£gns. Account K. JlcLcod <Gore) : 6 at 4gns. Account D.
