Unofficial advices from St. Petersburg indicate a Russian reverse on the Yalu river, a brigade sustaining serious losses. Naval reservists at Sevastopol are mobilising. JAPANESE LOSSES. LONDON, April 9. An official report published in Tokio state- that in the various attacka on Port Arthur tWe Japanese lost 14 killed and nine died of the wounds. Of 91 others wounded, 40 have recovered. GOING BACK TO THE OLD TIMES. The Daily Chronicle's Tokio correspondent reports that a moat, four miles long and covered and protected with barbed wire has been excavated two miles north of Port Arthur. LONDON, April 9. Japan has engaged 'iOO Canadians to servo with the medical and bearer corps. Thoy served similarly in the South African w u r. The Stnnda/d states that tho lOmpress of Japan has presented the Russians wounded in the Chamulpho engagement with artificial eyes and limbs.
