■ The Rose Casey arrived from. Preservation iiriet at 10 p.ni. on Wednesday, and after landing mails and passengers proceeded to Dunedin. ;
The N.Z.and S.A. Co.'a s.s. Devon arrived off the port from Sydney onrly yesterday,and berthed at .8 a.m. The Devon, which is on her first visit to this port, is a vessel of 5488 tons gross and 354G tons net register ; built in 1897 at Hetiburn-bnrTyne by Uawthorn, Leslie and Co., Ltd. ': Captain Brown's deck officers are Messrs Wallace. Bush, Graham', and Norris. Mr Sutler fs chief enr jjineer, his assistants being Messrs Met-t-alfe, Griffith, James, Clark, and Allen. Mr McNaught is in charge of the refrigerating machinery, and Mr Bell is steward. From the Bluff the Devon will take about 90Q0 , sacks of oats, and will probably sail for Port. Chalmers tomorrow. ■ .
