WELLINGTON, March 10

Business yesterday and to-day at the conference of the N.Z. branch of the Dritiah Medical Association was chiefly confined to the reading of pa*>ers and discussions thereon, and tho proceedings were in camera.

Dr Valentine read a paper on an inquiry into the prevalence of tuberculosis in N.Z. ; -.with* some suggestions as to its administrative control. Dr Mason contributed a paper on smallpox in N.Z. aad Mr J. A. Gilruth gave a demonstration of the method of conferring immunity by the use of virulent cultures.

To-morrow a paper on responsibility in crime will be read by Dr Gow ; Judges. Magistrates* and members of the leg^l profession have been invited to take part in the discussion on this paper.
