The Mandeville Camp

The three squajdrons continue to enjoy beautiful weather for the camp, and good work is being idojie. On Monday reveille sounded, at -5.30 and a dismounted parade was held is inaivual and firing exercises udder the instructors and non-ccfrns. At 9.80 the troops were exercised in squad/on drill under their officers, and at 3 p.,m. extonded work was practised. Lectures to the officers arid non-coms, in the evening, and a singsong for the men in the big mess tent closed a very useful day. i The camp has the use oJ' a piano kindly lent by Captain McNab, and this, with the assistance of two pipers anjd a. concertina player materially helps towards making the oveninjgs pasts pleasantly. On Tuesday forenoonr regimental drill was practised under Major Bow.-. ler, and the afternoon was spent in forming service advance gjaards aiid on outpost line. Considering the recent alterations in drill the troops are working 1 rema^kajbiy weJJ, a»d the officers have every reason to be pleased with the;? commands. The fact that from 5Q to GO men can be seen disporting themselves in the river at one time shows tl^t the advantages ol the, camp site are appreciated.
