Per United Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 8. Tho Auckland Temperance Crusaders discussed Mr Seddoni's proposal to prohibit liquor in private houses in prohibited areas. On one side it was thought by some that the proposal was a little too drastic ; and, on the other, it was affirmed that prohibition that did not prohibit would be useless. A resolution was carried by 40 to 3 in favour of prohibiting drink in private houses. The body of William Benning, a gumdiggcr, near Mercer, was found in a gully.
