(From Our Own Correspondent). ' The funeral of the late Mr Thos. McWilliam was very largely attended. • The pallbearers were the members of his family and brother officers in the church. The services in the house l and at the grave were feelingly and i appropriately conducted by the Rev. ' J. M. Simpson, who also preached a sermon in commemoration of the de- • parted on Sabbath forenoon, taking !. for his text the words " Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord, that they may rest from their labours and their works do follow them." Mr : McWilliam had been painstaking and attentive in the performance of his duties as an elder of the church, :\nd was deserving of the tribute paid to his memory. At the last meeting of the A. and V. Association matters in connection with the show were pretty well squared up. Mr John Cowie took the trophy as largest prizetaker for , grain ,'; Mr L. Cody for roots, Miss Jessie Hamilton for bread- and scones, and Mr W. S. Andrews for fowls. The prizetaker with the largest family was Mr Robert Wilson.
