FOREIGN CABLES.
— ♦ ALLEGED SLAVERY IN ALABAMA. FIDDLESTICKS ! Per United Press Association. By Electric Telegraph — Copyright. NEW YORK. June SO. The grand jury at Montgomery. Alabama, found ninety-nine indictments of negro slavery against planters. It is alleged that negroes were fined for fictitious offences and that the planters paid the fines, taking the negroes into slavery. Whippings were freq_ent and some proved fatal, while deserters were chased by hounds. The Kaiser's inspection of the U.S. warship Kearsage is considered a great breach of naval etiquette. Americans regard it as indicating suspicion.
