The conditions are : i 1 ) Thai the com-
petition is open to all incinliprs of tho Agricultural ami Pastoral Associations and Formers' Clubs (including their secretaries), throughout the colony ; C 2) that essays are not to exceed s-ix sides of foolscap : (H) that essays are to he forwarded to the secretary. Otago A. and P. Association, on or before the Ist June. 190J4, accompanied by a sealed envelope marked " F..*sny." and containing the nn mo ami address of Ihe author; (1) that the essays will bf> judged by n committee appointed for the purpose ; nnd (.">) that the winning essny be read at Ihe annual meeting of the Otnpo A. nnd 1' Association.
As the time is short intending competitors .should get to work nt once. The subject is ono that ofTors wide scope to intelligent and well-informed farmers and mercantile 1 men.
