ROME. April 27. King Edward landed at Ostia and entrained for Ronio amidst extraordinary enthisiasm. The Mayor of Romo issued a nmnifesto, wheroin he reminded Italians that, but for Britain, the unity of Italy would not have been accomplished.

The King of Italy and the municipality and people of Rome combined to !t£Cord King Edward a splendid, cordial, and picturesque recoption. The decorations
were on a magnificent scale, and most artistic. The King contributed £10,000 tuwnr.s the cost Of a military display, which was brilliant and imposing. The King and Royal Princes welcomed King Edward on his arrival at the station. Replying to au address of welcome, presented by Prrnct Colonna,,. Mayor of Home, King Kdwnrd- said he was happy to render personal homage to the Eternal City. After greeting Queen Helena at the Quirinal, his Majesty visited Queen-Dowa-ger Margherita.
