THE GUMBIRRA FIGHT

FANATICAL HUSHES

LONDON, April 27 Received 27th, 11.26 p.m.

The survivors of l'lunkett's force report that the dervishes displayed unsurpassed fanatical bravery. Heaps of dead were piled in front of the maxims, and at least 2000 of the enemy wore killed. Their disinclination to interfere with Col. Cobbe's extrication shows that the dervishes had suffered terrible losses. Air the survivors of the contingent wore wounded excepting five. Many complaints are made that the service bullet proved insulficient to stop the fanatical rushes.

The Mullah offers a reward of a thousand camels for the capture of Colonel Manning.
