Heddon Bush.

From our own correspondent

It is a satisfaction to note a number of tennis employed carting gravel for the school roatl. Tho contract for this work has heen secured by Mr .} . li. Forde, which is a guarantee that, it will oe done in a satisfactory manner. Councillor Clark urged the Council at its last -meeting to obtain an explanation from the Government why tho £60, balance of vote for this work, had not been authorised for expenditure. I would also remind the member for this riding not

to lose sight of the £100 voted in 1901 for the Heddon Bush-Brmn-mond road, but which has not yet been authorised for expenditure. As these roads are so urgently needed, 1 feel sure our representative, Mr J. C*. Thomson, would be only too pleased to assist the Council in urging the department to authorise the expenditure of the votes without further delay.

Mr Paterson. organising secrelary for the Soul hland Fanners' Union, was to have visited Heddon Bush on the 13th and 14th inst : on the first day to interview farmers generally, and on the evening of the second to address them upon various subjects. On the evening* appointed close upon 10 farmers put in an appearance, many coming considerable distances and at much personal inconvenience, liefore the opening of tlie meeting, questions were asked as to who had seen Mr Paterson. but no one seemed co have nm knowledge of his whereabouts, and after waiting till close upon in o'clock a mot ion expressing the profound disappointment of the meeting at his failure to put in an -HP I >oji r_u.ro v...... ...n-U-il „,,__„ i i. )ot i..Kanri ordered to be forwarded to tho executive.
