FOREIGN CABLES.
FATAL COLLISION. NEW YORK, Mar. 22. Received 22nd, 5.4 p.m. The City of Taunton. a cargo steamer, collided with the steadier Plymouth, carrying five hundred passengers, in Long Island Sound during a Jog. Six of the Plymouth's crew ! who were asleep were drowned, and twelve were injured. Both steamers readied New London. FRANCE'S Fl NANCE. PARIS. March 21. The total three years' deficit of the French Budget is £25,000,000. The Budget Committee recommends economies in the army and navy and a re-organisation of the fiscal administration and fresh taxation will be announced.
