DUNEDIN, March 21
The champion cycling meeting on the Caledonian ground was well attended and the weather was fine, but cold. The sport was on the whole somewhat slow. The time was lost with motor events and otherwise. Something went wrong with Martin's motor and Clarke and PortVr gave un exhibition instead of Martin. Jn the five mile' championship Holland and Huston bumped twice when linishinpl but made a wonderful recovery, Hut for this they might have given Martin more trouble.' Following were the result's : — Half mile cash championship — A. ITustan, W. Martin. A. Ralston. Connell and Holland also started. Won by a wheel. Time— l miv. 14 2-sth Fees. Mile rush handicap— R. Arnst, 55yds. K .J. Ritchie, 25yds, V. Rilchie. 75yds. Kun in two heats. Time — 2 mm. 1(> -4-stl» sees. , ~'2i> Vard.s Hat handicap— G. --Nicholson, "ijyds, .; W. Price, Byds, Won by a yard. Time— 24 sees. Five mile motor handicap — G. Porter, X"i sets, K. [r. Clarke, 85 sees. Run in heats, the time of the first being 9 mm. 44 H-f.th sees. Mile cash championship— W. Martin, A. Huston. A.
