Last, year this increase was not continued, tht- amount being A_:4 10s .'."Jd. representing a decrease of 8d per head. The gross expenditure for 1.901 was £_!.9_-_!,9B_- and for 190' i. £'_".95:5.29.5, an increase of £30, 310. The consumption of spirits was (>o'_,o2l gallons which, nt SL- per gallon, gives £1 Hh 9d per head ; wines. 1 20.440 Rallons — 0s per head ; imported beer. .101.520 gallons— ts s{d per head ; colonial beer. 7.17y,(5U0 gallons— or £1 14s 2d per head.
