Wheat— The European markets are flat, and have declined 3d, in sympathy with a sharp fall in America. Tho lamb market is firm. Stocks of new season's are light. The average price to-day of N.Z. lamb of brands other than Canterbury is C^d; Australian, s_d. The beef market i 8 weak and there is scarcely any demand. r l o-day's prices for 0 N.Z butter is 101 a por cwt ; Danish, Ills ;

Argentine, 101s ; Canadian, 975; Siberian, 955. There are Bigns of improvement in th-jpru-e of N.Z. butter. There is good demand for cheese ; N.Z. at 63s per cwt. Hemp ia dull. The price of good fair Wellington grade, ou _*<or., is £32 lOs per ton ; Jan-uary-March -shipments, £29 10s. The price of 'Manila hemp, fair current grade, on Rpot is £35 per ton. There ia no alteration in the cocksfoot seed market.
