AtICKLA-ND, Feb. "*_- This afternoon fire destroyed ' houses at Mount Eden owned by Smith, Moloney, and Bennett, and very -little of the contents were saved. Insurances : Smith's house, £100; Bennett's house and piano, £250 ; Maloney's house arid furniture. £400— all in the New Zealand office. The Rev. Father James 7 Mcliitosn, priest of Parnell Parish, was found dead in his bedroom. Death was due 'to syncope, the result of hemorrhage and exhaustion from vomiting. ■'■;
