THE ALASKAN CONVENTION
The Times' New York correspondent says America accepts the Alaska Commission as a proof of Britain's friendship and that the lasting bond of u&iou will probably result in greater diplomatic triumph for all concerned than the Hay-Pauncefote treaty. It is expected that the U. S. Senate will notify its acceptances and that Lord Chief Justice* Alverstone will probably, be one of the British Commissioners.
