At the annual conference of the Political Labour League the report adopled declared that the Executive could not too strongly condemn the inaction of the majority of the party in connection with the movement in favour of free education. It also strongly coi.demned the Premier's opposition to the esWbi shiueut of Slate ironworks, and declared that such opposition meiits the forfeiture of the support of labour. After a debate, during which Mr McGowan declared that the party would put any government in power which supported >taie irouworkß, the olauee suggesting forfeiture of the party's bupport of the Government was deleted.
