Messrs McKay Bros’ weekly report of actual sales in Exchange sale rooms for week ending Saturday, sth December :— Poultry—63o disposed of at fair prices. Table birds, Is 4d to Is 91; ducks, 2s to 2s 6d ; ducklings, Is; geese, 3s6d to 4s ; turkeys, 2s 3d each. Pigs—3B entered. Suckers, 14s to 19s; weaners, to 22s each. Strong demand. Potatoes—Derwents, £8 per ton (nominally ; new, 2Jd. Onions—old, 10s per cwt; new, 14s. Barley—lss per bag. Bran—7s per bag. Oats—l2s 6d per bag. Rhubarb—2d per lb. Green Peas— per lb. Fruit — Apples, 22s 6(1; Bananas, 201; Lemons, 18s 6d ; cherries, 11s to 19s ; Pines, 15s per case. Wool Sales. [Per United Press Association.] Wellington, Dec. 6.
The Department of Industries and Commerce received the following cable concerning the London wool sales: —Wool sales closed. The estimated value of fine crossbred of all grades, 9td to lljd ; medium crossbred all grades, 7jil to 9d ; coarse crossbred all grades, s,}d to 7d ; merino, superior, Is to Is medium, lOd to Is; inferior, 81 to lOd. The opinion is that the advance will be maintained. The stock is small and buyers are giving greater attention to cross breds on account of the high prices oi merino.
