(Per United Pbkss Association.) Cmeistchcegh, March 12. ! Fat Cattle — 146, mostly mixed sorts, were offered, and prices were firmer by _. 6d per 1001 b. Steers, £6 os to £9 7s 6d ; heifers, £5 10s to £8 78 6d ; cows, £5 15s to £8. Fat Sheep— 3soo penned, including good lines of North Islajid ewes and wethers. Sheep fit for export maintained late rates, -viz. 15s to 17s 6a ; unfinished wethers, 14s to 14s Sd • best ewes, 12s to 14s 9d, and up to 15s 9d for extra ; secondary sorts, 8s to lie. Towards the dose inferior were almost at 4s fid to 7« 6d. Fat lambs — 2400 in, including many unfinished, and only theprimest upheld late prices. Exporters took 1528 at 10s 6d to 13s 6d, butchers at 10s to 13s 9d, graziers at 8s 6d to 9s 4d, others were passed at 8s 3d to 12s 3d. Store sheep (12,606 of all classes) met a better demand owing to improved feed pros* pects. Forward wethers, lis 9d to 13 ld ; others, 7s 6d to lis 2d ; good ewes, Us to 12s 6d ; fall mouthed, 6s ld to 9s lOd ; aged, 28 lOd to 3s 6d ; wethers and ewes, 9s lOd to lis 2d ; forward lambs, 8s 6d to 9s lld ; others, 5s ld to 7s 3d ; poor men's wethers, 3s. Pigs — 450 penned, including a lot of unfinished fats. TNearly 100 large stores were bought for Dunedin. Baconers, 32s 6d to 46s 3£d ; porkers, 25s to 33s 4d ; large stores," 17s to 23s ; smaller, 8s to 12s ; suckers, 4s to 7s. , A line of 500 sheep from the North Island made 15s 8d to 16s 7dfor wethers and lis 6d to 14s 9d for ewes.
