Scholarships and Matriculation.
The Recess Committee of the NZ University Senate met yesterday in Dunedin to consider the results of the Junior Scholarship and other exams. Among the successful candidates are the following local •scholars ; the number before the name beinv the position on the list : — ' JUNIOR SCHOLABSHIPS. Charles Stanley Brown, High School, Invercargill ... 3602 (9) Ernest Charles Lindsay, High School, Invercargill 3531 (11) Robert John McKay, High School, Invercargill ... ... 3426 Ma3tßr Brown has no number, being under age, but his name appears between In os. 4 and 3, an exceedingly creditable position. Altogether 15 passed • the marks of the first— Mary H. McG. King, Waitaki n H.S., beinp 3977, and those of the lowest 3338. Among those who gained " credit " are H. A. Wild, H.S., Invercargill (3109) and J. B. Baird, H.S., Invercargill (2815 ) The highest mark in this class was 3305 and the lowest 2519. Among those who qualified for matriculation on the scholarship exam, was A. B. (sic) Lindsay, H.S., Invercargill, ninth in order of merit.
