LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Wellington, Friday. The Council met at 2.30. The Chemists Rota of Attendance Bill waa introduced by tho Hon. H. Feldwick. Il; empowers the Governor-iri-Council to maktt regulations prescribing a rota of attendance for chemists, under which it shall be obligatory that tbe chemist appearing on this rota shall in each case have- in attendance at his premises some duly qualified chemist who shall supply medicine and surgical appliances at any hour on days gazetted anil advertised. It shall not be necessary to have the shop open or lighted up, if ao accessible and effective bell is provided. The bill was read the third time on the voices and passed. The Opium Prohibition and Charitable lustitutions Rating BUh\ were reported from Committee without amendment, read a thud time, and passed. ■-, ■--.- The Council rose at 2.45 p.m.
