Winton Racecourse V. Heserve
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Some of your readers would like to know why the Trustees of the Winton racecourse reserve allow the present occupier to depart from the terms of his lease r According to his lease, l am informed, he is allowed a certain rotation of crop, which rotation has not been followed, to the detriment of the land. For instance, this is his last year, and he is taking a crop of wheat off it, that being the fourth white crop off some of it in seven years, and the lease says that there nhall only be two white crops during that time BO that in the interests of the public and the incoming tenant thetrnstees should be made to see that the lease is complied with, irrespective of whoever it may be that holds it, and thereby show no favour. —l am, &c, Watch Dim;. Winton, 27th Aug.
