Juvenile Immorality

TV THE EDITOR. hilß, — In your columns lately there have been some instructive leltors on the question of juvenile immorality. One of your correspondents advocates birching as a corrective. Fancy one of our Btalwart guardians of the peace, weilding a birch rod and laying on to the back of the erring fair ones. Ido not think many members of the force would be ungallant enough for the office. Some vißaged maidens of uncertain age would have to be engaged, no doubt they would lay it on. Another gentleman advocates teaching the Bible in schools, as a sovereign ruined y for all sorts of complaints, but while the Bible is being taught, and properly digested, it strikes me that something is required for present and immediate use. It also strikes me the remedy is still wrapped in obscurity, and that being found out is the main sin.— lam, &c, Bkiton. Invorcargill, 6th Aug.
