Echo of a Great Crash.

(Per United Pkess Associates ) Du.vedin, Aug. H. Tho preliminary phase of an unusual case came before the Supreme Court in Banco. The assets company formed in Edinburgh to take over the assets of the City of Glasgow Bank commenced with a capital of half a million and the agent in New Zealand had therefore to pay a fee of £200 per annum to carry on business in the colony. The capital was subsequently reduced and the fee payable would only amount to £50, but the New Zealand agent wue not informed, and for ten years went on paying, thus contributing £1500 unnecessarily to the revenue of the colony. It is now proposed to sue the Crown to recover this amount. The question argued to-day was whether the claim was barred by the Statute of Limitations or the Crown Suits Act, on which point decision was re^jrved.
