General Kitchener's weekly I'oport states that 48 Boers had been killed, 19 wounded, 220 taken prisoners and 57 surrendered and a pom-pom, 141 rilles, 86WJ rounds small arms ammunition, ISo" waggons and many horses and cattle had boen captured. Mr W. T. Stead vainly urged M. E. Brenner, President of the Swisa Republic, to intervene against Britain's alleged violation of The Hague Peace convention concerning tho usages of war. Mr Stead then asked for a general statement in reference to Swiss sympathies towards tho Boers, but M. Brenner declined to be. drawn.
