Wednespay, 12tu December. Tbe meeting was attended by Messrs D. Barron (Chief Commissioner), J. Mclntyre, D. King and A. Baldey. H. Keenan was granted a year to year grazing license at £3 per annum over section 1, block 18, Longwood. Geo. Melvin and Co's offer of £7 for the Eurchase of timber on sections 14, 25 and 2, lock 24, Invereargill Hundred, was accepted. On the recommendation of the ranger it was resolved to sell the timber on sections 2 and 5, block 24, at 5s per acre. P. Diack requested that section 812, Hokonui, be re-opened for selection, the timber having been cut out. — To bo regazetted at former value. R. Ronald complained that Groves Bros, are trespassing upon Crown lands adjoining his section 194, Wairio.— Messrs King ana Baldey to inspect unselectetl sections in Wairio and report. John Newton requested that the bush on run 38, Centre Hill, be open to settlers all the year round.-— To be informed that the right is reserved during January and February and that the Board cannot alter former decision. Andrew Small applied to lease or purchase sections 364 and 3/4, Taringatura.— Ranger to report on value of the land for settlement. Mrs Colquhoun was granted a temporary grazing license over blocks 1 and 20, Limehills, until the land is offered for sale. The Surveyor-General notified that a proclamation has been published in tho Gazette withdrawing 3727 acres in Winton State forest, and 13,500 acres in Longwood forest from forest reservation and that these lands may now be dealt with as Crown lands. — Recei ved. The Wallace County Council complained that arrears of rates on forfeited sections, claimed by the Council in November, 1899, have not "yet been paid.— To be informed that voucher for payment was forwarded to Wellington in December, 1899. The following applications were granted : M. Walsh, section 92, block 2, Seaward Bush township ; Wm. Peace, sections 65 and 66, block 3, Seaward Bush township; Julius Bielawßki, section 35, block 4, Campbelltown Hundred ; E. Pleasant, section 155, block 1, Pater-sons; Henry HcLees, section 118, Takatimo, and H. J. Gregg, section 32, block 6, Otara. John Loubit applied for titles over sections 10 and 11, block 8, Wendonside.— Otago School Commissioners to be recommended to move Minister to approve of the purchase. Sufficient improvements having been effected, Duncan .Sellers was granted a title over section 49, block 2, Oteramika. The following transfers were approved : — Section 340, Forest Hill Hundred, from Wm. Halliday to Andrew McDonald ; section 367, Taringatura, David Mackintosh to Murdoek Mackintosh; section 3, block 2, Alton, John Templeton to John H. Temple ton. The ranger reported that insufficient improvements were effected on a number of sections in the Longwood and New River districts and it was resolved to call on the holders to show cause. Minor matters were dealt with in committee and the Board adjonrned.
