PRISONERS AT MAFEKING.
kru<;er travels incognito. Lo.vdon, Nov. 14. Batches of prisoners are arriving at Mafeking, including 80 Boers captured at Ottoshoop where the Australians are operating. The steamer Suffolk leaves Capetown for Australia on Friday, with 50 invalids and 20 officers. The Queen received two leading MafekiDg nuns prior to their return to that town. Privates Goss and Saunders, of the South Australian Mounted Infantry, have received commissions in the Field Artillery. Dr Leyds has informed the Governments of France, Belgium, and Holland that President Kruger only claims the honour accorded to an official travelling incognito. Hobart, Nov. 15. The s.s. Delphic brings the following invalided New Zealanders : — Sergt. Sykes, Trooper Knudson, Privates J. Aitken, J. Martin, W. Robertson, E. Knapp, A. Barnes, Hereford, M. Holden, T. Kirwan, and R. Montgomerie.
